Monique Versailles

Board Members

Monique's journey began in the corridors of classic humanistic education, steeped in Greco-Latin studies. Transitioning into healthcare, she spent seven years specializing in Cardiology at a University Clinic in Ghent, before nurturing young minds as a nursery monitor in Bruges and later co-managing a nursery in Courrière (Namur) for three years.

Her quest for holistic healthcare led her to a year-long stint at an Anthroposophic Clinic in Arlesheim (Basel), Switzerland, where she collaborated to establish a center for Anthroposophic medicine in Antwerp over three years. Seeking broader horizons, Monique obtained a Tropical Medicine diploma in Antwerp, serving at the institute's hospital for a year.

A recurring theme emerged throughout her journey: a profound fascination with the bookends of life, birth, and death.

Expanding her expertise, Monique delved into Palliative Care in Brussels and provided end-of-life support through the Yellow and White Cross association. She believes in the symbiotic relationship between accompanying death and embracing life, as highlighted in her work with the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Association.

Her professional journey has taken her across continents, from interim roles in Belgium to fixed contracts in Scotland and Southern England, culminating in stints in Africa, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, and Togo-Benin.

Fluent in Dutch and French, with intermediate English and basic German and Spanish skills, Monique finds solace in nature walks, philosophical exploration, and travel during her leisure time.
